Went out for a quick bite to eat after arriving in Edinburgh quite late. Stumbled across Khartoum and decided to give it a go. I am so glad I did. Had the aswad and baba ganoush for starters - which were both delicious. However, the real winner was the chicken marjakhis. Honestly it was one of the tastiest things I’ve had in my life. If you eat meat and are not allergic to peanuts, you HAVE to get this when you go. The staff were super friendly. I spoke to the owner who said that the restaurant was founded by his late brother. He is certainly doing him justice by the quality of the food available and the ambiance of the place itself. Really highly recommend if you’re in Edinburgh.

Great place to eat. The manager is very friendly, the local dishes are freshly baked, and delicious. A lot of attention in the service as well, with free extra given without even asking. Don't hesitate.

Food was great. They even let us try out their Falafel. Service was amazing. They were very accomodating. Keen on having us having a great experience Friendly. Homely and cozy atmosphere.

One of the best places in Edinburgh! The owner is so attentive and friendly. The food is amazing, we had a jerk wrap and the aubergine dish. Everything was delicious.

Found this place after the movie theatre, the music and ambience is so special and the food was so good!!! The pictures don’t do it justice. Very warm and heartwarming.

Was a regular when I lived here 3 years ago and have now been back and it is the same as ever. Amazing service from such a lovely owner, the most delicious authentic african wraps whose quality has not changed, and great value/price. Cute atmosphere to sit in for a casual meal out, highly recommend!

This place is a real gem! Restaurant owner Omar provides super tasty food that's full of flavour and freshness. We started with the Salata Asward - be prepared for the most exquisite falafel you have ever tasted! We then had two great mains: Marjakhis and Mossagaa dish, we asked for spicy and Omar prepared a wonderful chilli sauce and added fresh green chilli to one of the dishes. To our surprise, Omar brought us fresh mint tea with yummy dates to finish our lovely meal. He is so attentive and with a real passion for the Sudanese food and hospitality he grew up with. We strongly recommend this cute little place. It is not to be overlooked

Absolutely delicious meal with great vegetarian and vegan options. Omar was incredibly kind and interesting to chat with, and he gave us exceptional service. It was a lovely and intimate dining experience. -Eleni and Thomas
